Activities and events

The club is involved with a variety of organizations to enhance the southwest Michigan community. Below is a list with links to some of the organizations that we have been proud to be associated with.

Bronson Journey Beads

Bronson Journey beads is a program that provides hand-made glass beads to children undergoing treatment at Bronson Hospital for cancer and blood related disorders. The club is proud to provide wooden boxes for the children to keep their beads in.

Carnegie Center for the Arts, Three Rivers Michigan

West Michigan Woodturners participates in a biannual exhibit showcasing art pieces by the River Country Quilters and West Michigan Woodturners.  The next exhibit is in the fall of 2019.  If you would like more information on how to submit works for consideration members may contact club leadership. Announcement for a call for submissions will be at a later date. Pieces can be offered for sale but it is not necessary.

Vicksburg Historic Village Harvest Festival

This is an annual event that occurs at the Vicksburg Historic village on the last Sunday in September between the hours of 11 am and 4 pm.  The West Michigan Woodturners provide demonstrations on turning of several different types of forms including bowls and spindles.  If you are interested in participating please contact us.

Tillers International

We provide demonstrations in the spring/early summer and fall turning various forms.  These are one day events open to the general public.
