Membership in the West Michigan Woodturners can enhance and accelerate your learning and enjoyment of woodturning. At each monthly meeting you’ll see and experience interesting, detailed turning demonstrations, a Show and Tell from fellow members sharing their works, and camaraderie with like-minded individuals.
Other membership perks include:
Club Library Collection: Borrowing privileges at the club’s extensive library of woodturning books, magazines, VCR videos and DVDs of professional woodturners
Past Club Demonstration Videos: Access via the club’s website to videos of demonstrations from prior meetings
Raffle Table: Access at the monthly meetings to the club’s silent raffle table, where members bring in turning wood, tools and other turning-related items
Woodturning Instruction: Instruction in woodturning, from beginners to advanced techniques, provided by experienced woodturners, along with occasional workshop opportunities following a monthly meeting demonstration
Snacks and Coffee: Coffee, cookies and other snacks are made available at every club meeting. Donations are welcome! All money collected at the meetings goes into the club treasury to pay for room rent, the cost of bringing in professional woodturning demonstrators, and other expenses.
Mentoring: Decades of valuable woodturning experience lie within the membership of the West Michigan Woodturners. Members are always willing to share tips and tricks about how to sharpen tools, affix wood to the lathe and their opinions about the best finishes to use. All you need to do is ask.
